General - ADSL2+ Tester GAO-701C

The GAO-701C ADSL2+ Tester is a battery-powered, hand-held communication instrument. It has a large screen that is capable of multi-lingual display. This product is particularly applicable for the field engineer for installation, testing, and maintenance of ADSL equipment, and has been widely used by tier-1 ADSL operators . It is the best choice for ADSL engineers and technicians.

Major Features - ADSL2+ Tester GAO-701C

  • Large screen, easy to operate
  • Portable design. Built-in large-capacity lithium cell for at least 6 hours operation.
  • Multitasking support (able to conduct a test while browsing previous records).
  • Test setup is allowed. Test results can be stored or deleted. Memory retention in the event of power failure.
  • As many as 7 test settings and 100 groups of test results can be stored.
  • Superior alarm detection and indication.
  • The tester can be connected to a computer via a serial port to enable storing, analyzing and printing of the tested data.
  • Software can be updated online.

Major Functions - ADSL2+ Tester GAO-701C

For ADSL physical layer, the following items can be tested:

  • Fast channel and interleave channel.
  • Line parameters testing: Speed of up and down channels, line loss, noise margin, transmission power, and use rate of channel.
  • Performance analysis of line errors and alarms: - Automatic detection and display of such alarms as signal loss, frame loss, power loss and cell loss etc. at near end and remote end.
    - Detection of fatal error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of power loss count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of signal loss count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of interleave channel FEC forward error correcting code count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of fast channel FEC forward error correcting code count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of interleave channel CRC error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of fast channel CRC error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of interleave channel HEC error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of fast channel HEC error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of interleave channel NCD error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of fast channel NCD error frame count at near end and remote end;
    - Detection of interleave channel OCD error frame count at near end;
    - Detection of fast channel OCD error frame count at near end.
  • DMT component channel carrier wave pattern
  • Display of the modulated bit number on each DMT component channel in form of diagram and figure.
  • Display of user's connection state and testing progress at real time, and present information on local equipment manufacturer and version.

For ADSL network layer, the following items can be tested:

  • ISP PING test: Verify the connection of user to ISP provider.
  • Simulated PC logon: The instrument can be used to simulate user terminal PC logging on ISP provider to verify if ADSL user can get on the Internet.
  • LAN PING test: Verify the PC in connection failure within LAN.
  • WAN PING test: Directly PING the website IP to local WAN to verify the connectivity of WAN link.
  • The instrument can be used instead of ADSL MODEM to test Internet wire speed and bandwidth available for the user.
  • The instrument can carry out simulated ISP logon instead of ADSL modem to check the operating performance of users' terminal equipment.
  • PPPOE dialing can determine the users' dynamically distributed IP websites.

For ADSL line, following items can be tested:

  • Digital multimeter (DMM): DMM can be used to measure AC/DC voltage, loop resistance, dielectric resistance, capacitance, etc.
  • Subscriber telephone connectivity test: The separator in the instrument can be connected to an external telephone to verify the connectivity of subscriber telephone. Estimation of the length of subscriber telephone line
